Romance readers, a few weeks ago, Netflix released a new poster for Bridgerton season 4, revealing Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha)’s masquerade gown. The social media post said, “A masquerade is like no other event. Prepare yourselves, for anything can happen,” and reminded fans that Bridgerton will be returning in 2026. So the hype around Bridgerton is still very real. But Netflix is already thinking ahead to what their next big romance series could be. Will it be Twisted Love?

Twisted Love is a romance series that has been all anyone can talk about on BookTok. Ana Huang’s four-book series includes the novels Twisted Love, Twisted Games, Twisted Hate, and Twisted Lies. Like Bridgerton, the each book in the series follows a different romance story set in the same universe. Unlike Bridgerton, these books are contemporary and follow four best friends. If you’re a fan of grumpy/sunshine, brother’s best friend, or billionaire romance stories, you’re going to love these. These stories also feature morally gray characters and spicy romance scenes. Netflix’s logline promises, “A steamy new adult series that follows the lives of four best friends and their brooding love interests, riddled with dark secrets from their pasts, as they overcome the obstacles keeping them apart to fall in love.”

In a recent interview with Swooon, author Ana Huang shared updates on the Netflix series adaptation. “We’re working on the script right now, and that’s about as much as I’m allowed to say,” she said. Huang says that there are “no updates beyond that” to share right now, but she added that “hopefully there’ll be more soon.” Admittedly, that’s not much to go on, but it does suggest that Huang is involved in the scriptwriting process, which should be exciting news to fans of the book.

No cast for Twisted Love has been announced at this time, but that hasn’t stopped people from speculating. Here’s Swooon‘s pick for the young cast, and, of course, Ana Huang herself has also gotten in on the dreamcasting for the upcoming project. And with how much BookTok has loved this series, plenty of people on TikTok have also thrown their picks into the ring.
