A new adaptation of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility is coming to theaters October 16, starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, Esmé Creed-Miles, Caitríona Balfe, George MacKay, and Fiona Shaw. It’s being produced by Working Title Films (Love Actually, Bridget Jones’ Diary, Pride & Prejudice (2005), and Emma (2020)).
The trailer promises a faithful adaptation of the beloved story, with several romances playing out simultaneously. It also looks like it places just as much important on the relationships between the three sisters as they navigate their new reality after their father’s death, leaving them reliant on marriages to secure their futures.
The official description calls it a “charming, witty, and deeply relatable story of love and sisterhood.” Watch the trailer below.
