In Stormy Weather by Chelsea Curto delivers a refreshingly unique romance set against the high-stakes world of meteorology—and it absolutely hooked me with its blend of science, tension, and heart.

Quincy Monroe is a force to be reckoned with: a woman in STEM with a PhD in atmospheric sciences, a thriving online weather platform, and a career she’s fought hard to build in a male-dominated field. I loved how empowering her story felt—she’s brilliant, driven, and unapologetically ambitious.

Opposite her is Sebastian Dunn—her best friend’s brother, longtime academic rival, and a swoon-worthy TV weatherman. Their dynamic brings plenty of tension, and this is very much a “he falls first” romance, which added a layer of sweetness and emotional depth that I really enjoyed.

Set during a record-breaking hurricane season in Florida, the story had strong Twister vibes—with a spicy romance twist. The storm-chasing elements were intense and at times genuinely scary, making you feel like you were right there in the middle of the action. It added a cinematic quality that made this romance stand out from others in the genre.

There were a few moments where I personally wished for a bit more emotional maturity from the characters, especially given they’re in their early 30s. However, this didn’t detract much from the overall story for me.

Overall, I’d rate this 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4—a dramatic, empowering romance with a unique twist and plenty of stormy tension. Chelsea Curto’s creativity really shines, and I’m excited to see what she writes next.

A huge thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for this refreshing romance eARC.
