As a certified lover of all things fall, I have gleefully begun my ‘Ber Month countdown, not only in anticipation of cooler temps, leaves changing color, and gourd-flavored everything, but of the publishing explosion that happens this time of year. This fall is shaping up to be a great one for books in general (and I do mean a great one), and I’m especially excited for the banger list of Latine releases we have to look forward to. These adult and YA reads include standalones and sequels across the fiction spectrum, from exciting debut authors and familiar favorites. In short stories, we’re getting a debut collection full of magical realism and a genre-bending collection from a Pulitzer Prize winner. There are lots of flavors of Latine horror headed our way in time for spooky season, including several gothics, a visceral work of body horror, and an anthology with an absolute dream list of contributors. We have historical fantasy inspired by Incan history, a sapphic sports romance, and in YA, the return of the graveyard gays (IYKYK) and a YA debut from a master of adult gothic.
