Kennedy was a young wife who didn’t know what was coming. The book starts years before when Donovan Taylor is celebrating his 21st birthday, but gets an unhappy ending. He is caught up in a police raid at a strip club where he’s caught soliciting a prostitute. He’s picked up by his father, who is visibly shaken. His father takes him to a low-class hotel. Waiting for him is his mother, who tells him the sordid tales of her former life as a prostitute. So right of the bat, the book gets a PG13 rating from me. Back to the present-day: Kennedy is married, but her husband died and then she found out that he was cheating on her and leaving her to blame for his gambling debts.
