The longlist for the International Booker Prize 2026 “celebrates the best works of long-form fiction or collections of short stories translated into English and published in the UK and/or Ireland between 1 May 2025 and 30 April 2026.” There are 13 books on the longlist, translated from 11 different languages. The winner will receive a £50,000 prize, split between the author and the translator. Shortlisted works receive a £5,000 prize.

You can check out more details at the Booker Prize website, which I must say is one of the most informative and well-designed award websites I’ve seen. It includes facts about this year’s picks, short biographies of the judges, and a statement from the Chair about the process of narrowing down the nominees to this longlist.

Here is this year’s longlist.
