cover of Onyx Storm

Rebecca Yarros’s Onyx Storm is already the fastest-selling adult novel in the past 20 years. And now the author is giving fans an update on the upcoming TV series adaptation of her five-part Empyrean book series. Yarros told Variety that they’re not casting for the series yet, but that it’s important to her that Xaden is played by an actor of color: “[Showrunner] Moira [Walley-Becket] and I’ve had really great conversations about that, and she knows how important it is to me that we not remove marginalized people from the cast.”

Yarros also explained that she has revealed the overall arc of the full series to the show’s creators, but “they don’t have the specifics between Book 4 and Book 5,” which she is still plotting. “But they have general ideas. And Moira is great. She’s phenomenal.” No planned release date has been announced for the series, but since we’re not even to the casting point yet, I think it’s safe to assume fans still have a while to wait.

Cosmopolitan has revealed the cover of Adalyn Grace’s Holly, a holiday novella set in the world of the Belladonna series. Holly is set to be released on September 30, 2025, just in time to add it to your TBR for your holiday season reading!

The latest book in The Hunger Games series will be narrated by Yellowstone actor Jefferson White! “It’s an honor to be a small part of a world I’ve loved for so long — Suzanne Collins is a genius and it’s equal parts exhilarating and terrifying to be back in Panem,” said White. Suzanne Collins’s Sunrise on the Reaping, which tells the story of Haymitch Abernathy, will be available in print, ebook, and audiobook on March 18.
