The winners of one of the biggest and longest-running awards, the Hugos, were announced this weekend at the 83rd World Science Fiction Convention, held this year in Seattle, Washington. Find below the literary winners of the 2025 Hugo Awards, Lodestar Award for Best Young Adult Book, and Astounding Award for Best New Writer.
- Best Novel: The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett
- Best Novella: The Tusks of Extinction by Ray Nayler
- Best Novelette: ”The Four Sisters Overlooking the Sea” by Naomi Kritzer (in Asimov’s 9-10/24)
- Best Short Story: “Stitched to Skin Like Family Is” by Nghi Vo (in Uncanny 2/24)
- Best Series: Between Earth and Sky by Rebecca Roanhorse
- Best Graphic Story or Comic: Star Trek: Lower Decks: Warp Your Own Way written by Ryan North, art by Chris Fenoglio
- Best Related Work: Speculative Whiteness: Science Fiction and the Alt-Right by Jordan S. Carroll
- Best Poem: “A War of Words”, Marie Brennan (in Strange Horizons 9/16/24)
