Legacy Series Book 1
When war erupts across Utopia and beyond, Angel, Cory, and Cogeta must rise against an enemy that threatens to subjugate their world and the known universe.
The first strike was meant to cripple Utopia.
Instead, it awakened a wolf.
Dark Angelus Everlast has always been an outsider: respected for his skill, admired for his strength, but still not trusted. When a brutal force from beyond the stars strikes his world, he is thrust into command, forced to rally allies who doubt him even as the enemy tightens its grip.
At his side stand Cory Ryker, a strategist haunted by self-doubt, and Cogeta Fairway, a warrior whose humor masks old scars. Together, they must face an enemy convinced that domination is its right and victory already theirs—and fight to prove that Utopia’s spirit, and their loyalty to one another, cannot be broken.
Legacy is a bold fusion of epic fantasy and science fiction. More than a story of war, it’s about the bonds that outlast it and the choices that shape a world’s future.

CHAPTER 1
The Dance
I am the Chronicler. I have seen and transcribed a vast library of tales, big and small, of good and of evil, stories of noble kings and queens and vile folk, of myths and legends. Indeed, I have seen much in my time. I am ageless and continue to watch and record all things of significance. Join me as I share with you now a tale that takes place far, far away from where you call home. On a world that, in many ways, will appear similar and yet still strange to you. This story is about friendship, romance, war, mystery, and tragedy. Everything that makes up what you and I know as “life”.
Our story begins on a planet called Utopia. It is home to a race similar to you in appearance, though with noticeable differences—a race of beings raised with the ideals of being warriors. To be the strongest, to honor their family and their Gods. To one day join their All Father in his service in Valhalla. A world where a new way of science and technology exists beside the old ways of magic, with one steadily overtaking the other as is grows. It is here in this beautiful, peaceful world as it makes its long journey around its red sun that my tale begins. This is the story of Dark Everlast and his friends. In the capital city, Utop, on the western continent, they have grown most of their lives. A grand city that started as a wild frontier fort that, over time, grew outward and reached higher until it became the shining monument of prosperity it is today. The city’s structures seemed to glow in radiance from the building’s white sidings. A visitor knew right away from her intimidating outer walls and gatehouses manned with soldiers and her streets patrolled by armed guards that she was secure. Off in the distance from the main gatehouse, up on a hill and surrounded by another ring of defenses, was the grand palace of the emperor. Near it, just off to the side, was the holiest and most beautiful of cathedrals ever to be erected in the name of the gods. Yes, though she had a simple name, Utop was a pillar of beauty and a testament to Utopia’s potential. It was a thriving fantastical metropolis that hid its technological advancements behind its desire to preserve its past. In other words, it would not be held against an off-worlder if they first mistook the people of this world to be somewhere within their middle-age development.
It is late one night, during a ballroom dance at a great school known as Utopia University. It was being held for two reasons. The students celebrated a glorious victory over their rival school, Midstar University, in a thrilling tournament of wits and power. A tournament is held yearly to showcase to the world the talent that universities, big and small, can produce. Tonight, also honored the Moon God Mani, the god of mysteries, secrets, desires, hopes, and dreams…
The ballroom was dimly lit with one spotlight, and many softer lights twinkled in and out to mimic a night’s sky. An arrangement of soothing instrumental music played from speakers hiding in the room’s top corners. Off to the side of the ballroom was a large gathering of tables draped in white linen and adorned with a small arrangement of maroon-colored flowers in the center. The tables were unused, save for one. Surrounded by the emptiness sat a young man with long blonde hair. Dressed in a finely pressed white tuxedo with a red satin vest, he could have easily passed for a noble or perhaps even a young prince. However, he was of no such standing. After all, what sort of prince would sit alone while a ball was happening before him? His right hand gently grasped a crystal goblet filled with the party’s unique beverage. He slowly raised it to his lips and took a sip. He savored the cool sweet nectar as it washed over his taste buds before swallowing it. After gently setting the goblet back down on the table, his soft blue eyes moved across the room, observing the people. His gaze paused on a couple dancing together, and he didn’t try to stop as a small smile formed.
