MY REVIEW

Did you or your child feel very nervous going to school? Just imagine the child with ADHD. This story is a thoughtful look at a first day of school through the eyes of a child with ADHD. Camilo is a sweet little boy who gets distracted easily and often.

In his mind, he daydreams often in class and forgets where he is. This causes him to think the rug is his bed and his fingers are toy soldiers. He also worries about what his classmates think of him.

He has trouble answering the teachers questions, even when he knows the answers. He’s just so nervous. When recess starts, Camilo plays soccer with the children and is very good. With each goal he makes, he feels more confident.

In the end, he learns how to fit in with his classmates. The teacher gives Camilo a chance to be a leader and he’s successful. He’ll still have struggles with distractions, but now he is feeling much better about himself.
