Don’t you love reading a book to a child when they are actively engaged in the story? You can almost see them using their imagination. I love how this book illustrates a child listening to a book and becoming part of the book.
When children are read to, they are changed by listening. I love seeing the different pictures of parents and children from different cultures. Children and parents cuddling and having storybook time, is almost a magical experience. As a parent, I can remember those special moments. This book shows pictures that are the same.
Each picture shows the picture in the child’s mind as they listen to the books being read. Each picture shows different locations that are wonderful places to read a book to a child. Anywhere from a library story-time to a beach setting is shown, giving us all wonderful ideas when and where to take advantage of reading time.
This is a beautiful book, with illustrations that will be so memorable. I would love to have this book to read to my grandchildren.

She is currently part of the team at The Children’s Learning Lab, where experienced educators connect with elementary students for online learning. She divides her time between Michigan and California, enjoying the company of her husband, children, and grandchildren.
