Book lovers, it’s time to pop a bag of popcorn and hit the couch (or the theaters) to see brand-new adaptations of your favorite books. This month, some of your favorites are returning to the small screen, and we’re also getting some highly-anticipated big-screen adaptations that everyone will be talking about. So check these out if you want to be part of the conversation.
Daredevil: Born Again (Disney+, March 4)
The original Daredevil series ran on Netflix for three seasons from 2015 to 2018. Now Disney+ is reviving the series as part of Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are both back as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, respectively. Daredevil: Born Again is set to premiere its first two episodes on Disney+ on March 4, 2025. The first season will consist of nine episodes.
The Leopard (Netflix, March 5)
This Italian TV series is based on the Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa novel of the same name. The story follows Don Fabrizio Corbera (Kim Rossi Stewart), the Prince of Salina, and his family as they navigate life in nineteenth-century Sicily at a time of great political and social changes. The series also stars Deva Cassel, Saul Nanni, Benedetta Porcaroli, Paolo Calabresi, and Corrado Invernizzi.

When No One Sees Us (Max, March 7)
In March, Max brings viewers a new Spanish series, When No One Sees Us, based on the novel by the same name by Sergio Sarria. Maribel Verdú stars as Lucía Gutierrez, a sergeant in the Spanish Civil Guard who investigates strange incidents during the Holy Week float processions. Meanwhile, Austin Amelio plays Sergeant Andrew Taylor, a US Army special agent searching for a missing soldier.
Mickey 17 (Theatrical Release, March 7)
Director Bong Joon-ho’s highly-anticipated follow-up to his Academy Award-winning film Parasite is Mickey 17, an adaptation of the sci-fi novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton. Robert Pattinson stars as Mickey Barnes, a down-on-his-luck guy who signs up to be an “expendable,” a disposable clone of the human colony Niflheim. Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Mark Ruffalo, Toni Collette, and Holliday Grainger also star.

Long Bright River (Peacock, March 13)
We’ve got two adaptations featuring characters named Mickey this month. Long Bright River is an upcoming series based on the novel of the same name by Liz Moore. Amanda Seyfried stars as (you guessed it) Mickey Fitzpatrick, a police officer who patrols a neighborhood in Philadelphia that’s been deeply affected by the opiod crisis. When a series of murders hits the neighborhood, Mickey wonders if she has a personal connection to the crimes.
The Wheel of Time (Prime, March 13)
Prime’s epic fantasy series, The Wheel of Time, is back for a third season! Fans can expect to see Rand reunited with his friends and declared the Dragon Reborn. But of course, the threats against the light are still looming and numerous. Amazon will release the first three episodes of the new season on March 13. Weekly releases will follow up until the season finale on April 17.
Snow White (Theatrical Release, March 21)
Disney’s latest live-action remake takes it all the way back to the studio’s first full-length animated film: Snow White. The film is, of course, based on the classic German fairy tale first written down by the Brothers Grimm. 2025’s Snow White is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida Wilson. It stars Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen. In interviews Zegler has hinted that this will be a more feminist version of the classic tale.
All this book adaptation news is very exciting. But as usual, we’ve got a lot more adaptations from white authors coming out this month. We encourage you to keep reading widely in the hopes that one day the movie and TV adaptations coming out will reflect the wide range of stories out there in the world!
