YA/middle grade author Dhonielle Clayton is set to release her first adult romance novel in March 2027, and here’s the cover reveal! The first novel in Clayton’s romantasy series, Conjure the Bones, is set in New Orleans and follows Collette Marchand, the daughter of the city’s most powerful witch. When Collette returns home, she is reunited with her childhood love, Téo Baptiste, and he’s determined to win her back. The novel is currently available for preorder and hits shelves on March 2, 2027.

Florence Pugh is producing and will star in the upcoming film adaptation of Matt Haig’s internationally bestselling novel The Midnight Library. Pugh will star as Nora Seed, who finds herself in a magical library that lets her experience all the potential lives she could have lived. The movie will be directed by Lion filmmaker Garth Davis, with a screenplay by Laura Wade and Nick Payne. Haig will executive produce. Pre-production is set to start this fall, with filming to start in early 2027.

Nia DaCosta will be directing the pilot episode of Sex Criminals, the series adaptation of the comic series of the same name, written by Matt Fraction and illustrated by Chip Zdarsky. DaCosta will also executive produce the series, which stars Imogen Poots and John Reynolds as two characters with the ability to stop time every time they have sex. And so they use their magical sex powers to rob banks. Sex Criminals is a Prime Video series created by Emily V. Gordon, Kumail Nanjiani, and Tze Chun.

YA author Lamar Giles has announced his next novel! Giles’ novels include The Getaway, Ruin Road, and Not So Pure and Simple. His latest, Say Less, is a YA thriller about a grocery clerk who gets promoted only to discover she’s now running a mob front. The novel will be out from Scholastic in 2027.

Netflix is planning its first wide theatrical release with the upcoming film Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew, directed by Greta Gerwig. Originally planned for a holiday 2026 release, the new Narnia movie will now be widely released in theaters on February 12, 2027. It will be available to stream on April 2. This is the first time Netflix has planned a big theatrical release for one of its films over a month before it’s available to stream. A spokesperson for Netflix claims that their theatrical strategy has not changed, but only time will tell!
