Check Out These Must-See Adaptations Coming Out April 2026!

April is a fun month for page-to-screen adaptations, especially if you prefer to stay cozy at home and watch things from the comfort of your couch (or in bed on your laptop… no judgment here). All the adaptations coming out this April are heading straight to streaming! So make sure your Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, Peacock, and AppleTV+ subscriptions are all up and running, because we’ve got a lot to look forward to watching this month!

XO, Kitty (Netflix, April 2)

Kitty enters senior year in the third season of XO, Kitty, based on the character from Jenny Han’s To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before series. And it sounds like we’re finally going to get to check back in on Lara Jean, the star of To All the Boys, in this upcoming season! Check out our full deep dive on what to expect this season, and tune into Netflix on April 2 for all eight new episodes!

Agent from Above (Netflix, April 2)

This Taiwanese fantasy series is based on The Oracle Comes books by Xing Zi. Blending Taoist folklore with modern urban fantasy, the series follows Han Chieh (Kai Ko), a former drug addict who becomes a spirit medium who makes a divine pact to help maintain the balance between the spirit realm and the human world. Principal photography for this series actually began in November 2022, but an on-set injury set production back, and now we’re finally getting the show in 2026. All six episodes will drop on Netflix on April 2.

The Testaments (Hulu, April 7)

Based on Margaret Atwood’s novel of the same name, this dystopian drama series is set years after the events of The Handmaid’s Tale. Agnes (played by One Battle After Another‘s Chase Infiniti) and Daisy (Lucy Halliday) are two teens attending Aunt Lydia’s elite preparatory school for future wives. Anne Dowd reprises her role as Aunt Lydia Clements, whom she played for all six seasons of The Handmaid’s Tale. The first season will consist of ten episodes, with the first three releasing on the 8th.

The Boys (Prime Video, April 8)

The fifth and final season of The Boys also premieres on April 8. This series is based on the comic book series of the same name, written by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. While showrunner Eric Kripke has confirmed that the final season will not be a direct adaptation of any of the books in the series, fans of the comics should expect to see a similar ending for their favorite characters. Along with the cast that you’ve come to know and love, Daveed Diggs will join season 5 as Oh-Father.

The Miniature Wife (Peacock, April 9)

This sci-fi comedy series is based on the short story of the same name by Manuel Gonzales. Elizabeth Banks and Matthew Macfayden star as Lindy and Les Littlejohn, a married couple whose relationship struggles and power dynamics are further complicated when Lindy accidentally shrinks down to six inches. The series was created by Jennifer Ames and Steve Turner for Peacock. Greg Mottola (Superbad, Adventureland) directs.

Margo’s Got Money Troubles (Apple TV+, April 15)

Apple TV+’s Margo’s Got Money Troubles is one of the most-talked-about adaptations of the year. Based on the 2024 novel by Rufi Thorpe, this series stars Elle Fanning as Margo Millet. After having an affair with her professor, she gets pregnant and has to turn to OnlyFans to support herself. The series also stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Nick Offerman, Nicole Kidman, and Greg Kinnear.

The House of Spirits (Prime Video, April 29)

This is the first-ever Spanish-language adaptation of Isabel Allende’s classic magical realist novel The House of the Spirits. The series is produced by FilmNation Entertainment (Anora, Conclave) and stars Alfonso Herrera, Dolores Fonzi, and Nicole Wallace. Allende, Eva Longoria, and Courtney Saladino serve as executive producers. Francisca Alegría (The Cow Who Sang a Song Into the Future), Fernanda Urrejola (Cry Macho), and Andrés Wood (News of a Kidnapping) are the showrunners. The series will consist of eight episodes.
