Here’s the cover of The Valley of Vengeful Ghosts by Kim Fu! Cover designer Beth Steidle told Electric Lit, “I was so struck by Kim’s novel and the way that profound loss—loss of parent, partner, job, and home—is explored through an almost mythic landscape… [it felt] fitting to portray the setting, as this place embodies the magnitude of the book’s events and the inner turmoil of the protagonist.” The Valley of Vengeful Ghosts will be published on March 3, 2026 by Tin House.
A new musical adaptation of The Princess Bride is in the works. The musical, based on the novel by William Goldman, comes from the minds of Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony-winning songwriting duo Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, two-time Tony-winning director Alex Timbers, and Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller. Bob Martin and Rick Elice are servings as book writers and Tom Kitt will be the music supervisor.

In it, Malala traces her path from high school loner to reckless college student to a young woman at peace with her past. “Through candid, often messy moments like nearly failing exams, getting ghosted and meeting the love of her life, Malala reminds us that real role models aren’t perfect—they’re human.”

Bet, the live-action series adaptation of the Japanese manga Kakegurui, has been renewed for a second season on Netflix. Director and showrunner Simon Barry said, “I’m extremely happy for our amazing Bet fans from all over the world who get to enjoy another season, and for this incredible cast and crew to return to St. Dominic’s for more gambling and general madness.” The manga series, created by writer Homura Kawamoto and illustrator Tōru Naomura, has been around since 2014 and currently has 18 volumes, so there is plenty of source material for the television series to go off of.
