- One of the highest literary honors for YA books, the Printz Award, turns 25 this year.

- Okay, this feels like one of those dolls-inside-a-doll media things, and I wouldn’t even necessarily classify it as YA (or maybe I would?). Monster High–you know, those dolls–are getting their own live-action adaptation. Why is this in the YA book news roundup? Because Lisi Harrison wrote a series of books that came out after the dolls were released and more books by different authors were released in the last year.

- Speaking of dolls-inside-a-doll media things, Hayley Kiyoko’s “Girls Like Girls” began as a song and then became a YA book. It’s now going to become a movie.
- While there was a ton of hype around Scott Westerfeld’s Uglies finally hitting small screens last year, there’s been very little about the animated adaptation of his book Leviathan, which will hit screens this month.
- The folks behind To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before aims to adapt another popular YA series for screens: Rebecca Ross’s Divine Rivals.
