I Need to Tell Y’all About this Lego Set

2 weeks ago 9

Blue gift box with silver ribbon The Gift Guides officially start on Wednesday, but I wanted to post this ASAP so – quick and early gift guide!

NB: some links in this and future gift guides include affiliate links which send a portion of your purchase back to us at no extra cost to you. You’re not required to use our links, and thank you in advance if you do.

There is a gift with purchase from now until 11/11 at Lego.com, and y’all.

Y’ALL.

It’s called Books are My Passion.

Look at this.

Books are my Passion; a little brown haired minifigure in glasses is seated in a tiny library with a bookcase

Books are my Passion, $20 after 11/11, free with $130 purchase until then!

Books Are My Passion is a 285 piece Lego set that’s a free gift with purchase of $130 or more until 11/11. After that, it’ll be $20 or so, I believe.

Seriously.

The lego minifig is climbing the library ladder and there's a plant in the corner of the set

On the Ladder?!

The minifig has a cup of tea and on the blue chair behind you can see the first page of the book is Once Upon a Time

And look – the book on the chair, with turnable pages, starts with “Once upon a time.”

Clearly that is a set for romance readers! (Also, I had that haircut for probably half my life so that’s kind of alarming.)

Now, maybe you need some suggestions to hit that $130 threshold.

How about…

A lego set of a bluegreen typewriter with moving keysTypewriter Lego Set, 2049 pieces, $249.99

The Typewriter is retiring soon, per the website, and will be difficult to find after that.

There is also the kits in the Botanical collection, which range from $15 to $100, and would make lovely gifts.

And the Art collection has terrific kits, like this image of the Milky Way:

The milky way in shades of purple, orange and blue in different small Legos inside a frame The Milky Way Galaxy, 3091 pieces, $199.99

Then I saw this one, and I said, out loud, “Oh my GOSH.”

A tabletop lego set that looks like a Pac Man arcade game Pac-Man Arcade, 2651 pieces, $269.99

This is under the $130 threshold, but you could combine it with some flowers:

A lego set of a red Fender stratocaster guitar and a tiny amp LEGO Fender Stratocaster Guitar, 1074 pieces, $119.99

And this is just adorable: Van Gogh painting Starry Night:

A semi-three-d lego rendering of Starry Night with a small path leading to a minifigure of Van Gogh painting it, as if he's looking out a giant window at the original scene Vincent van Gogh – The Starry Night, 2316 pieces, $169.99

That’s so cool, like he’s painting the original scene.

I am waiting to put my Books Are My Passion set together, but once I do, I’ll definitely share pics.

Do you have Lego folks on your gift list this year? Are you a Lego aficionado? What sets are your favorites?
