Movie and TV fans, it’s finally November! As we near the end of the year, we’re also coming up on some of our most highly anticipated adaptations. Yes, that includes the thrillifying Wicked: For Good, but there are plenty of other page-to-screen adaptations to add to your watch list this month. Here are some of the upcoming series and movies coming to theaters or streaming in November.

Robin Hood (MGM+, November 2)

MGM+’s new Robin Hood series is a fresh take on the folk hero you know and love from lore and literature (and of course, the Disney movie). Newcomer Jack Patton plays Rob, a Saxon forester’s son who fights for freedom and justice after the Norman invasion of England. Fighting alongside him is the daughter of a Norman lord, Marian, played by Lauren McQueen.

All Her Fault (Peacock, November 6)

This mystery thriller series is based on the novel of the same name by Andrea Mara. Sarah Snook stars as Marissa Irvine, a mother who arrives to pick up her son from a playdate only to discover he’s nowhere to be found. This star-studded cast also includes Jake Lacy, Sophia Lillis, Michael Peña, Dakota Fanning, Abby Elliott, Jay Ellis, and Thomas Cocquerel. All eight episodes of the show will be available to stream on Peacock on November 6.

Death by Lightning (Netflix, November 6)

This historical drama miniseries comes from Mike Makowsky (Bad Education) and is based on the book Destiny of the Republic by Candice Millard. The show will follow the presidency of James A. Garfield (played by Michael Shannon) leading up to his assassination by Charles J. Guiteau (Matthew Macfayden). Nick Offerman plays Garfield’s vice president, Chester A. Arthur, Betty Gilpin plays first lady Lucretia Garfield, Bradley Whitford plays politician James Blaine, and Shea Whigham plays lawyer Roscoe Conkling.

The Running Man (Theatrical Release, November 14)

If you were thinking one adaptation of a dystopian Stephen King novel (The Long Walk) was not nearly enough for one year, you’re in luck. Because this month, we’re getting The Running Man. This novel was originally adapted in 1987, but now we’re getting a fresh new adaptation for our increasingly dystopian times. The story follows a game show where contestants run for their lives against hunters in the hopes of making it out alive and winning a cash prize. The cast includes Glen Powell, William H. Macy, Lee Pace, Emilia Jones, Michael Cera, Daniel Ezra, Jayme Lawson, Colman Domingo, and Josh Brolin.

The Seduction (HBO, November 14)

This French-language series is a spicy prequel to Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’ 18th-century novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses (or Dangerous Liaisons). Anamaria Vartolomei plays Marquise Isabelle de Merteuil. Recently betrayed by Vicomte de Valmont (Vincent Lacoste), Isabelle sets off on a mission to become Paris’ leading courtesan. Wicked: For Good (Theatrical Release, November 21)

We’ve all been waiting with bated breath for the second half of Wicked, based on the Broadway musical, which is based on the novel by Gregory Maguire. Now it’s finally hitting theaters this month. Will Elphaba truly die a villain, or will she get her happy ending? And how much will we cry about it? Even if you’re a fan of the book and the musical, the movie is sure to have a few surprises up its sleeve. Here’s some of what we can expect.

Hamnet (Theatrical Release, November 28)

Speaking of tears… If you’ve read Maggie O’Farrell’s Hamnet, then you know there will be few dry eyes in the theater when this adaptation comes out at the end of this month. From Academy Award-winning director Chloé Zhao, this film follows the relationship between Agnes (Jessie Buckley) and her playwright husband William Shakespeare (Paul Mescal) following the death of their 11-year-old son Hamnet. Emily Watson and Joe Alwyn also star in supporting roles as Mary Shakespeare and Bartholomew Hathaway, respectively.


As 2025 comes nearly to a close, there’s one thing we’re hoping for in 2026: more adaptations by authors of color! Stay tuned for a post about upcoming adaptations from authors of color in 2026. In the meantime, keep reading diversely to let Hollywood know we want stories from diverse voices.
