“A good parent has happy kids,” she whispered in my ear. “Our kids are so happy.”

The clock at St. Killian’s chimes as whispers float in the dark staircase above.
Snow falls from the black sky beyond the windows, and candles glow, the flames lighting up the longest night of the year.⁣
Devil’s Night isn’t the only holiday we celebrate. Tonight, we’re pulling on a different mask.⁣
Some call it Midwinter.⁣
Others call it Yule.⁣
We call it Fire Night.⁣

This was the perfect conclusion to the Devil’s Night series. It wrapped everything up so nicely and was great to touch base on all the characters again that I’ve come to love so much. I literally read this in one sitting. I’ve become so attached to these characters and the found family trope just tugs at my heartstrings…it’s so hard to say goodbye. What I like the most about this series was how even though it was a dark romance, there were so many bigger things happening (even in a novella) and so much anticipation… I loved every second of the ride.

I rated this novella four stars. This book felt like a warm hug after everything that has happened but not necessarily a closure because the epilogue ends on a cliffhanger?? Now I know Douglas has mentioned that she is done with this series, but she sure leaves it open for the option to keep going!
