Here’s the cover of Yiming Ma’s These Memories Do Not Belong to Us, out from Mariner Books on August 12. The cover is designed by Ploy Siripant. Siripant told Electric Lit, “I was instantly drawn to this novel because of its title, and frankly, I asked to work on it!” The debut novel is available to preorder now.
More exciting cover reveal news! Paste has shared the cover of Jennifer Niven’s YA thriller When We Were Monsters. Niven tells Paste that “When We Were Monsters is a dark academia psychological thriller about a group of students at a New England boarding school who are chosen for an exclusive storytelling workshop with Meredith Graffam, a renowned writer, director, and actress. For sixteen days, they will live in the isolated estate of the school’s founder, surrounded by snowy woods and a storm-tossed sea. And everything goes horribly wrong…” This is Niven’s first foray into thriller/dark academia territory, and you can check it out when it hits shelves on September 2.

The Netflix film adaptation of Keanu Reeves’ BRZRKR has announced its director! Fast & Furious director Justin Lin has signed on to direct the project. The film, like the comic it’s adapted from, will follow the story of “B,” a half-god, half-human who has lived for 80,000 years. Now he’s a killer for the U.S. government, but all he wants is an end to his immortality. Terminator Zero showrunner Mattson Tomlin is writing the script. No release date has been announced.

Max is developing a series based on Kevin Kwan’s Crazy Rich Asians novels. Adele Lim, the co-writer for the movie Crazy Rich Asians, will serve as showrunner. Crazy Rich Asians film director John M. Chu is also attached to the project as an executive producer.
